About Ted Terry
I arrived in Taos in 1975.
Originally from the Midwest I came to New Mexico right out of college and I’ve never left my adopted hometown. After experiencing Taos’s year round blue skies, and sunny days I’ve never wanted to live anywhere else.
I got into the real estate business through the back door, by purchasing land properties here in Northern New Mexico. Over the years I feel fortunate to have worked with many genuinely nice folks; neighbors, colleagues and clients alike. Having grown up in a small town I really appreciate the Taos Valley for all that it is. Its people, the land, water and mountains all contribute to making Taos a truly spiritual place.
One of the things I like the most about the real estate business is being able to help people with a difficult decision. A real estate purchase can be like a “perfect storm” of money and emotion. Good real estate brokers facilitate the calming of the seas for your purchase or sale. We also know the right stuff about zoning, covenants, easements, septic systems, encroachments etc. …. so you don’t have to!
Over the twenty some years I’ve been doing this work I have realized the truth of that old saying: knowledge is power. I continue to learn more about the business of real estate here in Taos all the time. The time I’ve served as president of the Taos County Association of Realtors, another stint on the Board of Directors, District Vice President for the Realtors Association of New Mexico (RANM) and currently on the Legislative Committee for RANM has been time well spent. I’m also working with a group of Taos citizens revising the Taos County Land Use Regulations working on the behalf of my fellow Realtors and the conservation oriented, environmentally responsible people of Taos.
My relationships with people in the business of real estate, local government and interested community activists help me serve my clients. My clients are my business priority.
